Artist Statement
Jacqueline Dupré is an award winning artist from Long Island with a passion for photography and mixed media art.
Jacqueline began experimenting with photography at a young age after being introduced to the medium by her mentors Mary and David Reay of Bellport, NY. As she grew, Jacqueline found great excitement with the mystery of film development and the hands on approach to print production. Her ongoing series, Projective Anthos, explores botanicals, the Rorschach technique and the Mandelbrot set, providing the viewer a unique opportunity to see beyond the plant and into the inner cosmos.
Dupré considers herself a slow artist, taking pleasure in each step of her process, adding layers and textures that draw inspiration from earth metals and nature. She loves working with mixed mediums mixing photography and painting.
Jacqueline currently serves as historian and past president for South Bay Art Associatio.
