Artist Statement
My work is an ongoing study of the art of design, expressed through the relentless, shifting geometry of the ocean. While my formal training and technical background in high-performance maritime and automotive engineering allow me to navigate any landscape or subject, I find myself perpetually drawn back to the wave.
To me, a wave is the ultimate engineering marvel of the natural world. My process—whether in oil, acrylic, or charcoal—is informed by a deep, structural understanding of how water moves and how light interacts with surface and form. Having spent a career around technical fabrication I view the ocean not just as a landscape, but as a complex architecture of energy and fluid dynamics.
In my practice, I seek to capture the balance between the rigid logic of design and the untamed power of the water. Each painting is an attempt to find order within the chaos of the surf, translating a lifetime of technical expertise into a visual language of light, depth, and intentional form.
