2025 Board Slate

Prepares the agenda and presides at the meetings of the Board and the Membership. He/She may appoint committees as needed. He/She is an ex officio member of all committees. He/She presents a summary report of the year’s activities at the Annual Meeting. After the election of officers at the Annual Meeting, the outgoing president convenes a joint meeting of the newly elected Board and the previous Board for the purpose of conducting an orderly transfer of materials and information.

Presides at SBAA meetings in the absence of the President, assists the President, and performs such duties as may be assigned to him/her by the President and by the Board of Directors.

The Treasurer of SBAA is the Chief Board Officer responsible for managing all SBAA funds. They must provide financial statements at each Board meeting, oversee funds and securities in designated institutions, and maintain accurate books of accounts for all transactions. The Treasurer performs all duties related to the role and ensures the accounts are audited annually. They prepare an itemized financial summary and projected budget for the upcoming year for the January joint meeting. The Treasurer is also responsible for facilitating IRS returns when required and ensuring insurance coverage for all SBAA events, workshops, and exhibits, while maintaining a record of insurance policies.

Shall handle all physical or electronic correspondence as requested. He/She sends Board Meeting notices to Officers, Trustees, and Chairpersons for consulting or reporting as directed by the President.

Shall keep minutes of all business meetings, including agenda, report decisions, current projects and proposals. He/She has the sole responsibility to determine if there is a quorum present at Board Meetings and membership meetings and will act as Parliamentarian.

Shall assist Officers in planning and executing various operations of the organization. They may serve on specific committees to act as liaisons of the Board at the request of the President.
